Across 43 tracked days the Japanese Hisuian Growlithe AR 075/066 has gone from US$13.38 to US$12.39 — ninety-nine cents, and 43 of those cents came in the first week of our series. What is moving sits one layer up: the PSA 10 median rose from US$46.00 to US$56.01 (+21.8%) while the number of graded sales behind that median went from 32 to 69. A median rising while its sample doubles is the opposite of what is happening right now to cards from a set released three months ago — and that contrast, not the flat line, is what this report is really about.

The release date is the fact to hold on to: this is not a new card. Crimson Haze has been open for nearly two and a half years, so whatever repricing follows a Japanese set’s first months of pack openings has already happened here — which is the background to everything below. One limit worth stating up front: we track only the Japanese printing, so every price in this report is the Japanese one. If you are comparing against a card in an English-language set, we have not verified those numbers and will not quote them.
The raw price barely moved — and that is the finding
We track this exact card daily: the Japanese printing, Near Mint, using TCGplayer market price as the reference. Our series runs July 6 to August 25, 2026 — 43 tracked days inside a 51-day window, with eight days missing and omitted from the charts.

Across all 43 tracked days the card’s entire range is US$12.39 to US$13.38 — ninety-nine cents, top to bottom. Of that, 43 cents arrived in the first week alone, from US$13.38 on July 6 to US$12.95 on July 13. From July 13 to August 14 — a full month — the price then sat between US$12.70 and US$12.95, a spread of 25 cents. Since August 18 it has held a slightly lower band, between US$12.39 and US$12.50.

The band is not moving in one direction: three of the seven are up over the window and four are down. That matters for how you read the headline number — Hisuian Growlithe is not flat because the whole set is frozen. It is flat while cards around it move in both directions, which is what a settled price looks like rather than a stalled one.
PSA 10: the median went up while the sales behind it doubled

The direction held throughout: our tracking flagged the PSA 10 trend as rising on every one of the 43 days in the series, and the median never printed a lower figure than the one before it. The PSA 9 line moved the same way on a much thinner sample — US$19.50 from 5 sales on July 6 to US$22.99 from 8 sales from August 1 onward, up 17.9%. Eight sales is not a market you can plan against; we report it so you know the 9 outcome exists in our data at roughly 1.9× raw.
Why the pairing matters: a median can rise simply because a couple of expensive sales landed in a thin sample. That is not what happened here. The sample grew — 32 sales to 69 — and the median rose anyway. More copies clearing at higher prices is the ordinary signature of demand keeping up with the graded supply arriving, and it is the reason we treat the 4.52× multiple as a real number rather than an artefact.

What a new set’s graded market looks like while it is still forming
The value of the flat line above only becomes clear next to a set at the other end of its life. Abyss Eye (M5) opened in Japan on May 22, 2026 [1] — three months ago — and its graded market is forming in our data right now, week by week.
Start with the set’s headline chase card. We published a full report on Morpeko ex SAR 115/081 on August 18, and the graded figure in it has moved a long way since:

Morpeko ex has lost 56.0% of its PSA 10 median in twenty-seven days while the sample behind it went from 6 sales to 43. Its raw price, meanwhile, has been essentially unchanged since August 18. That is the same pairing we looked at for Hisuian Growlithe — median against sample size — pointing the opposite way.
And it is not only the chase card. Look at what happened to the Abyss Eye Art Rare band in the space of four days:

As tracked on August 21 and August 25, 2026. Counts cover only the Art Rares for which we hold a daily series, not necessarily every Art Rare in each set. “Median sales per card” is the median of the tracked PSA 10 sale counts across those cards.
Six Abyss Eye Art Rares recorded their first tracked PSA 10 sale within those four days — Armarouge (5 sales), Dhelmise (6), Zarude (6), Bastiodon (2), Toucannon (3) and Silvally (11). Only Fomantis still has none. Four days earlier, seven of the twelve had no graded market at all. You are watching the first submission wave come back and hit the market in real time — and the medians it is establishing rest on almost nothing. Sorted, the twelve Abyss Eye Art Rares carry 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 6, 11, 12, 50 and 282 tracked sales: eight of the twelve stand on six sales or fewer. Any price you read off those cards today is one unusual transaction away from moving.
Crimson Haze is what the far side of that process looks like. Its Art Rares all have graded markets, built on a median of 14 sales per card and as many as 192 for the Eevee. One caution about how far to take this. Our reading is that arriving graded supply pushes a market that is still forming downward, while an established one absorbs it. But set age alone does not explain everything: Ninja Spinner is only five months old and already carries a deeper median sale count than Crimson Haze does at nearly two and a half years. The honest version of the claim is one-directional — a set can be too new to have a graded market you can price against, but being older does not automatically make that market deeper.
What we’d actually check before buying this card
Pulling the report together: the raw price has moved 99 cents in fifty days, the graded median is up 21.8% on a sample that doubled, and the multiple over raw has widened from 3.44× to 4.52×. That leads to two different answers depending on why you want the card.
If you want the card to keep. Nothing in 43 days of tracking suggests urgency in either direction. There is no squeeze to get ahead of and no slide to wait out — the entire range is ninety-nine cents, and most of that was spent in the first week of our series. Buy the condition you actually want rather than timing it, which on a US$12 card usually means paying a little more for a copy whose flaws you can see in the photos.
If you are buying to grade. The 4.52× multiple is the number to interrogate, and the arithmetic is unforgiving at this price point. A PSA 10 is worth about US$43.60 more than the raw copy at today’s medians — and out of that you pay the grading fee, shipping the card to the grader and back, and the risk that it comes back a 9, where our data shows a median of US$22.99 from just eight sales. That is a much smaller cushion than the multiple makes it sound. The Morpeko numbers above are the reason we keep pointing at the sample size. A multiple quoted off a handful of graded sales on a three-month-old set is a number that can halve while your card is still in the queue — Morpeko ex went from US$315.00 to US$138.50 in under a month as its sample grew from 6 to 43. That risk is far smaller here, where the median rests on 69 sales accumulated over more than two years, but it is the right question to ask of any grading decision: how many sales is this number standing on?
What we would not do is read the rising PSA 10 median as a forecast. It tells you the graded market for this card is active and getting more liquid. It does not tell you where the number goes next, and we do not make price predictions.

Is Hisuian Growlithe AR 075/066 going up or down?
Neither, in any meaningful sense. Over 43 tracked days between July 6 and August 25, 2026 the raw price moved from US$13.38 to US$12.39, and the entire range across those days was exactly those two figures. Forty-three of the ninety-nine cents went in the first week; from July 13 to August 14 the price stayed inside a 25-cent band. The graded side is a different story: the PSA 10 median rose 21.8% over the same window, from US$46.00 to US$56.01.
Should I buy the Near Mint copy or the Lightly Played one?
On a card at this price the gap between conditions is usually a few dollars, so the question is what you want it for. If the copy is going in a binder, a Lightly Played card with a flaw you can see in the listing photos is the better value. If you are considering grading it later, start from Near Mint — the multiple discussed above assumes a PSA 10 outcome, and a card with visible edge or surface wear is not a realistic candidate for one. Is it worth grading this card?
Our numbers say be careful with the arithmetic. As of August 25, 2026 the PSA 10 median is US$56.01 from 69 tracked sales against a raw price of US$12.39 — a gap of about US$43.60, or 4.52×. Grading fees, round-trip shipping from Japan and the chance of a 9 (median US$22.99, but from only eight tracked sales) all come out of that US$43.60. The multiple is real and the graded market is genuinely liquid for a card this cheap; it is the absolute gap, not the multiple, that decides whether submission makes sense.
Why is the graded price rising if the raw price isn’t?
They are answering different questions. The raw price on a 2024 set has already been through its pack-opening wave and settled. The graded median reflects a smaller, separate market of copies that have been submitted and returned — and for this card that market grew over our window, from 32 tracked sales to 69, while the median rose rather than fell. On a much newer card, Morpeko ex from Abyss Eye, the same growth in sample size came with a 56% drop in the median instead. Our reading is that arriving graded supply pushes a market that is still forming downward while an established one absorbs it — but that is a reading of our own data, not a rule we can prove.
